Unlike some other physiotherapy clinics, we don’t want to see you for endless appointments. It is our goal to have as few sessions with you as possible, while still delivering results. When you visit Function PCP, one of our expert physiotherapists will conduct a thorough discussion and examination to diagnose the cause of your injury before working with you to resolve it. Your treatment will fast-track your recovery and minimise the number of sessions required.

With the help of one of our dedicated physiotherapists, you can reduce pain and get back on your feet before progressing to our optional Clinical Pilates and Movement Playground.

The Function Physiotherapy team includes specialists across the areas of :

- Headaches and migraines
- Sports injury
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Back and thoracic (rib cage) pain
- Joint pain
- Workers Compensation or 3rd Party Insurance Claim injuries

What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling is a treatment technique whereby a sterile, single-use, fine filament needle (acupuncture needle) is inserted into the muscle to assist with decreasing pain and improving function through the release of myofascial trigger points (knots in the muscle).

How can this help you?

Every patient is unique, and everyone needs their own treatment plan. Here we can use dry needling as a modality that can allow muscle releases, blood circulation, muscle activation, and increased lymphatic drainage. We use dry needling as part of the treatment, meaning that everyone still needs an assessment and a treatment plan.

We love what we do and it shows. With more than 25 years of experience in the field, we know our industry like the back of our hands. There’s no challenge too big or too small, and we dedicate our utmost energy to every project we take on.

The Outcome

Many of our patients can perform their daily activities and even participate in sports, but are not able to efficiently execute the movements in our screen. We can then derive the exact methods and rehabilitation to help maximize the output in your activities.

At Function PCP we can provide 3 different screening processes, which we provide a detailed report of the impairments and dysfunctions. Once, the report is provided we can discuss the next step of rehabilitation and the strength and stability programs that you need.

Do you need orthotics?

Orthotics are overly prescribed and usually are the cause of new or other pains that you didn't have to start with. The human body has a certain alignment and everyone is built different, we also load our bodies different depending age, occupation, activity levels and genetic skeletal build. Our physiotherapists that have now been trained under the ICB medical podiatry organization combine the knowledge of both worlds. We assess everyone from the feet up and know that there is a need for corrective orthotics to help with the overall movement and balance of the individual.

Once we have made our decision that you would need a custom orthotic we then connect all the bony landmarks and manually measure and imprint the foot in weight bearing. We believe the shape of the whole foot in weight bearing is the correct feedback you need from an orthotic rather than a non-weight bearing alignment of the arch.

The Plan

Every patient is unique. That’s why we customize every one of our plans to fit your needs exactly. We would like to work towards not having the need for the crutch we call orthotics but in severe cases we prescribe them indefinitely. If we can, we would work on corrective exercises and work towards weaning you off them in the future. Come and have a chat with us to see if you are that person.

We know how challenging it can be looking after your own health when you've got kids to look after too. That's why we've designed these programs just for parents.
