Why are our Fitness Playground classes led by Physiotherapists?
It is easier to get started on a fitness program, because the workouts are low-impact and non-threatening.
Our Fitness Playground classes are always led by our trusted physiotherapists. You may be wondering, but why physiotherapists?
A physiotherapist is a medical professional who specializes in diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating patients with movement disorders. The treatment methods employed by physiotherapists are often very different from those used by chiropractors, massage therapists, and personal trainers.
Physiotherapy is a highly specialized field of medicine that requires extensive training and education. While it is possible to become a certified personal trainer without any formal education or experience, it is not possible to become a physiotherapist without meeting certain requirements first.
The requirements for becoming a physiotherapist vary from state to state, but most states require at least an undergraduate degree in physical therapy before you can go on to complete your graduate studies. Physiotherapy students typically spend two years in school learning about anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics and other subjects related to the human body and how it works.
This makes it easy for people with joint pain or other injuries to get involved in a fitness program at their own pace as led by a trained physiotherapist.
The benefits of working with a physiotherapist include:
Improved mobility and flexibility
Improved strength, endurance and balance
Reduced risk of injury during exercise
Improved mental health
This class provides high-quality fitness education for all age groups and fitness levels.
Our Fitness playground class is a fun, friendly and supportive environment where you will learn how to get fit, lose weight or improve your current level of physical activity.
All our Fitness playground classes are run by qualified and experienced physiotherapists who are able to identify any underlying problems such as back injuries, arthritis or joint pain. Over time we can help you build strength and mobility so that you can enjoy a healthy lifestyle for years to come.
This class allows you to be social as well as get fit, which is more fun than working out alone.
The class is suitable for all levels of fitness and ability, so whether you are just starting out or already love it, this is the perfect way to get active in a group environment.
You will be working out on an apparatus such as the rowing machine, treadmill or cross trainer but also using a variety of equipment such as resistance bands and weights to enhance your workout. You will also learn how to use these pieces of equipment safely in order to get the most from every session.
After a few classes, you’ll realize you can do most of the exercises on your own at home or at the gym.
In fact, some of the exercises in the class can be dangerous if done incorrectly. If you have back pain, make sure to ask your physiotherapist to show you how to do each exercise correctly before trying it on your own.
It’s important to remember that physiotherapy isn’t just about improving mobility but also about helping you understand how pain works and how to manage it.
After learning these techniques, you will simply see exercise and your body in a whole new way that will motivate you to exercise more regularly.
